The ART of pumpkin carving
Pumpkin Art
Ray from Villafane Studios was born in Queens, New York. At a very young age Ray showed a knack for art; a passion that his mother approvingly encouraged him to pursue. From 1993 to 2006 Ray taught Art for students grade K-12 in Bellaire, Michigan. It was during his teaching tenure that Ray began “dabbling” in pumpkin sculpting, initially as projects with his students.
SEE eyewear
I worked an event at Beverly center with SEE eyewear and I fell in love with their style and selection! If you have never heard of them check them out on facebook or their website at http://www.seeeyewear.com . If you like their style as much as me you will want to go down to the store at the Beverly Center and have a try on session! They run specials and promotions so check their facebook for the latest and greatest.
SEE’s principals utilize their contacts cultivated over decades in the industry. The question they ask? Who is turning out designs that reflect the most forward thinking and unique product? We’re addicted to uncovering hidden gems and little known sources when creating designs. After the design phase, prototypes are sent to SEE for review where they go through another relentless editing process. If it isn’t “special”, it doesn’t make the cut. As a result, SEE’s collection is an eclectic and unique assortment of the best of the best: made exclusively for us. Mass production is a massive no-no at SEE.
Breast Cancer Awareness Event at Beverly Center Aveda

I was invited to participate in an awesome event to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness at Aveda Beverly Center. Having had a grandmother who suffered from breast cancer, I look for events and ways to use my talents to help raise awareness and money for the cause. AVEDA Beverly center partnered up with Vanity Girl Hollywood, SEE eyewear, and food donated by Obika Mozzarella Bar. I was on hand doing free makeup touch ups and after, the guests were treated to an awesome hair styling touch up and neck and shoulder massage finishing it off with a try on session with the amazing eyewear from SEE.
The event was a success and I look forward to working with the Beverly Center team in the future. A special thanks to Ron of Aveda Bev Center for putting such an amazing event together and for inviting me to be a part of it
Here are some pics from the event

Heather Davis and John Jones – Engagement photos
I met Heather years ago to do some photos for her back in 2008. I loved how funny and easy going she was and we did some private makeup shopping a few weeks later. 3 years later she tells me she is engaged and wants me to do the makeup for her pics! I was beyond excited to shoot at the gorgeous new Ritz Carlton in Downtown Los Angeles where I met her fiance John. What a great couple, complimentary to each other in every way ! They will be married in March 2012 in Charlotte North Carolina at the Ritz Carlton so it seemed fit to shoot the pics at the Ritz here in Los Angeles. The hotel let our photographer Richard Israel who had been flown in from Charlotte for the shoot, have freedom to shoot throughout the hotel. Here are some of my favorite shots
Ginsburg – Pearlman wedding
When I met Andrea for her makeup preview I knew it was going to be a beautiful wedding! Every attention to detail had been done and it was to be held at the gorgeous La Costa Resort and Spa in Rancho Sante Fe CA. I brought along my partner in crime Kristina Cardwell so we could tag team this large wedding party. We started at 9 am and kept going until 5pm and the day just breezed by with these lovely ladies. It was such a great family to work with, everyone was happy to be there and happy to be in the wedding. Here are some of my favorite pics
The lady and the sailor photo shoot
I am absolutely in love with this line! I had the pleasure of shooting their look book with my trusty assistant Romina .
“the lady & the sailor” was launched in April 2009 by owner/designer Brittany Correy. The Parisian inspired line is comprised of clean, chic basics in a classic palette of colors; highlighted by your quintessential French stripes and bright pops of color that vary by season.
Correy’s passion for design began early on, styling herself and her friends with originality and vigor. She has worked in retail styling and fashion merchandising for almost a decade, shaping her skill for design as well as developing her interest in proprietorship. “I created the line out of my frustration for always needing something I didn’t have.” says Correy. “I was endlessly in need of a tee that wasn’t too boxy, but still draped in all the right places. Or a tank that was long enough to layer, pieces with flattering necklines – I needed building pieces to create outfits. ”
Photo shoot with photographer Omar Guerra and Claudia Brant
I had the pleasure of shooting with one of my favorite photographers, Omar Guerra at the home of the very talented Claudia Brant . I have been working with Omar for years and knew the shoot would be a success because he is a great photographer who can really capture the subject he is shooting. Upon meeting Claudia I instantly felt at ease with her laid back style and warm smile. We were shooting promotional pictures from her 2011 Latin Grammy nominations!
Claudia Brant is today one of the most prolific and versatile composers in the music industry. Her songs cover a broad range of genres, from Pop and Rock to Merengue, Norteño, Bolero, Cumbia, Reggaeton and Salsa.
Her compositions have been cut by numerous artists such as: Carlos Santana, Josh Groban, Barbara Streisand, Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, Lara Fabian, Kenny G, and many more .
The combination has been a great one and since the shoot I have worked with her on many of her recent television appearances including CNN, Telemundo , and Primero Impacto with more exciting things to come . Here are a couple of the best shots from the shoot ….
